Nykwan Taylor, 18, was charged on Thursday, March 30, with first-degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Daijohn Spaulding of Camden, they said.
Taylor also was charged with weapons offenses, according to reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay alongside Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
On Sunday, March 26, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Camden County police responded to the 1400 block of Collings Road in Camden for a ShotSpotter activation.
The shooting victim was found at 3100 Alabama Road.
Spaulding was pronounced dead at 3:01 p.m. at Cooper University Hospital, MacAulay said.
Taylor surrendered at the Camden County Police Department Police Administration Building on Friday, March 31, she said, and was being held in the Camden County Correctional Facility.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
